I use NextCloud as a cloud storage provider and KeePass for password storage. It’s very useful to have access to those passwords from your phone.

MiniKeePass works great for reading KeePass database’s, but there is no good way to sync changes from the phone back to the database.

I use this as a read-only solution on the phone/tablet. It works good for that, but it is a bit inconvenient not being able to create new entries and have them sync back.

How I Use It

Initial set-up

  1. Install MiniKeePass
  2. Manually copy the KeePass database key to the phone
  3. Open NextCloud iPhone app (could just as easily be dropbox)
  4. Find the .kdbx database file
  5. Click on the database file and scroll to file the “Copy to MiniKeePass” option
  6. Open the file in MiniKeePass
  7. Open the key
  8. Enter your password
  9. Set up fingerprint identification if you have it
  10. Use MiniKeePass to copy usernames/password to your sites and apps
